An independent software studio, registered in Massachusetts in 2025.
Who we are
BFT LLC is a small studio that builds and runs its own software. Everything we ship, we also deploy, monitor and support ourselves, from the App Store listing to the support inbox. That is unusual for a studio, and it is the reason clients come to us: the habits that keep our own products running are the habits we bring to theirs.
What we build
Web applications, iOS apps and the data behind them. Our own products are the best description of the work:
- ScaleScience, a fish weight calculator that turns species-specific scientific equations into a tool anglers use on the water, with catch logging, cloud sync, subscriptions and data contributed to fisheries research.
- PodiumOracle, free forecasts for about 95 sports leagues, from models that publish their own track record, with accounts, a paid plan, live chat and an assistant that answers questions from the site's data.
- RegBot, an AI assistant that reads official fishing regulations and shows where each answer came from.
- PowerToggle, a macOS utility for Apple Silicon Macs, including the privileged helper that lets it switch power modes safely.
How we work
We solve the problem, not the ticket. The first conversation is about what you are trying to achieve. Often the right build is smaller than the one you asked for.
Simple to operate. Software costs the most after it ships. We favour boring, well-supported platforms, few moving parts, and documentation a new person can follow.
Measured, not guessed. Our forecasting products score themselves in public. We bring the same instinct to client work: define what success looks like, then check.
Respectful of users. Clear privacy policies, data kept to what the product needs, and no dark patterns. The way we treat our own users is the way we will treat yours.
What we build with
Swift and SwiftUI for Apple platforms. Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2 and Pages for the web, with plain JavaScript where a framework would only add weight. Python for data pipelines and models, run on GitHub Actions. AWS where a product needs it, as ScaleScience does. We choose the stack for the problem, and we will tell you when something you already have is the better choice.
